Day 182 – 13/11/2019 on a Midlife Adventure at Sea.

With not to far to go this morning as the ship was less than 1km away I enjoyed a quick breakfast before dropping my bags in at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

Mercantile Hotel, The Rocks

I headed to the bottle shop and picked up my two bottles that I’m allowed to take with me on board after dropping off the bags and waited till check-in opened at 11am.

I happened to be hanging around the terminal just as they opened up boarding so was one of the first few onboard.

I haven’t cruised before on the Ovation and forgot how fun it can be to be on a new ship. This ship is so new it still has its new ship smell even though its been around for a few years now.

Walking around the ship I found the most important machine. The Icecream machine.

That however did not fill the spot so off to the Windjammer Restaurant, one of the many places to pick up some food.

Just after lunch the rooms were ready so off to visit my Balcony Stateroom.

Whilst I’m happy in any cabin on a ship a Balcony is just that little bit nicer. As this cruise includes the Milford Sounds having a Balcony is a great benefit.

Getting back to exploring the ship I started at the top deck.

Walking around I found that some Panda’s were joining us for the trip. I should have got the hint at that time how cold it would get!

These new ships have everything including bumper cars!

Those wanting a swim are well catered for with 3 main pool areas.

Finding the casino I tried to remember where it was located to avoid going through that area…

Before too long it was time for sail away and leave Sydney again. Watching the ship reverse out you wonder how it doesn’t hit the bridge.

Enjoying yet another sail past the Opera house.

As the sun sets over the city.

Having not eaten for what seems like 5 minutes it’s time for dinner.

The first night is slow roasted prime rib and a tradition I don’t like to break.

Then its time to really do me in and pile on the desert.

With a full stomach I head to bed at the end of another day on this Midlife Adventure at Sea.
