Mt Carbine Caravan Park, Qld
An old mining village now running as a caravan park this place lives up to the sign on the entrance "Arrive strangers leave friends".
The sites are basic slab and you are directed in by Darryl who expertly guides you with simple instructions which trust me its just easier to follow his directions than even try and rely on your own skills.
With Powered and Unpowered sites on offer they are bush camping in reality and you can even have a camp fire.
They don't have a dump point however the bathrooms are clean and easy access day/night and well maintained.
They will store your van (which they did for me) if you are heading up to the Cape York region and don't want to put your van through that kind of hell (highly recommend you dont!)
There is a pub and roadhouse near by both within walking distance and they operate the Post Office.
