Day 134 – 26/9/2019 on a Midlife Adventure.

Departing Batchelor, NT I made my way south first stopping in Adelaide River, NT at the War Cemetery for those killed in the Darwin Bombings.

Adelaide River War Cemetery

How run by the Commonwealth War Graves it is a honour to stand amongst those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the protection of this country.

Heading south near Pine Creek, NT a bushfire was raging and it didn’t look good. As I got closer I was wondering how close to the road it was getting. As I got closer I could see it was still a bit off from the road.

Pine Creek Fire

I stopped in Katherine, NT for some lunch before heading off. The plan here was to stop at Manbulloo Homestead. I was however listening to a good book and decided to keep going.

The kilometres kept passing the road and traffic light and better was that it was cooler in the car than out of it.

Gregory National Park

I then started to be surrounded by massive hills that are absolutely impressive and the pictures don’t do justice.

I had arrived at the Gregory National Park

Well after 550km had passed I was done and ready to stop for the day and stopped at Timber Creek, NT.

I relaxed in the pool and cooked up a great steak for dinner and enjoyed what would be my last night (for now) in the Northern Territory on this Midlife Adventure.
