Day 117 – 9/9/2019 on a Midlife Adventure.
Today I say goodbye to Queensland, the journey through Queensland has taken 76 days and included many highlights with the pinnacle of them being reaching the tip at Cape York.

The car and caravan continue to perform very well and i’m sure the journey ahead will challenge it further as I explore some very wild country.

It was shortly after taking this photo and continuing west that I had a scary experience as a road train passing me got the wobbles up with the rear trailer entering my lane, however as I was still getting up to speed it was easy to pull off the side of the road and give him the space he needed.

Barkly Homestead is located at the intersection of the Tablelands Highway and Barkly Highway and is very very yes very remote.
It has a campground and a service station/bar.

The campground offer powered and unpowered sites I went with the unpowered one of the few times on this trip I have done.

The wind has been picking up which at the moment is not a big issue as it is behind me giving me a small help along the way.

With not much to do here I spent the day watching downloaded TV shows inside the comfort of the caravan.
So that’s another day in this Midlife Adventure.
