Day 116 – 8/9/2019 on a Midlife Adventure.
Camooweal, Qld is a small little town, the caravan park is out the back of the pub. It was also the subject of a Slim Dusty Song who travelled through the area many times on his way around Australia.
Nearby is the Camooweal Caves.
As you can see in the picture above… it is surrounded by… not a lot, you do feel very alone out here.
As you get closer to the caves you are surrounded by trees that know what tough conditions are but survive.
The Little Nowranie Cave is just near the car park and it isn’t recommended to go to close as the rocks can be unstable.
The Great Nowraine Cave is also very unstable but you can see that it goes down a long way.
The caves were caused by effectively dried sink hole.
The watering hole has seen better days and you can see where the water has receded from.
The journey west continues tomorrow on this Midlife Adventure.
