Day 110 – 2/9/1919 on a Midlife Adventure.

Cobb & Co Longreach, Qld

Starting out in Longreach main Street it was to the The Station Store for the journey on the Cobb & Co Coach.

Not sure who he’s going to sit next to on the coach

After checking in we made our way out to the Coach those in first class on the top rear, those including the drunks in the coach and someone willing to help with the gates out front with the coach driver.

I have heard about the chance of bush rangers out in this part of the bush so I made sure that I was prepared.

We trotted out of town making our way to our Smoko break.

With the storms chasing us in we hit stride and beat the storm in.

Making it to smoko gave some time to settle the dust with some billy tea and scones.

The homestead was equipped with the latest fan-dangled moving picture device.

Today’s Movie was “Smiley – Gets a Gun

Smiley and his Cobber’s get into all sorts of mischief the scallywags.

Then it was time for the Harry Redford Old Time Tent Show

The story of 1/2 Watt and his job interview, some true Aussie slapstick comedy.

Bluey at rest

All too soon it was back onto the coach and time to get on.

Wooden Coach

Where we passed another coach arriving at the station.

As an extra for you from the day, The Cobb & Co’s only side mounted Camera kept an eye out for bush rangers as we made a dash to the station.

This Midlife Adventure returns to 2019 tomorrow.
