Day 87 – 10/8/2019 on a Midlife Adventure.
Oh, what a night! I slept like a baby in my hotel bed, not missing the swag and not missing the caravan, it was great!
Heading off around town I made my first stop in at Mitre10 to pick up some new bolts for the spotties.

With the lights now secured I had a look around town which included a quick shop at Woolworths. Then I took the bridge over to Mapoon, Qld but as it was about 60km up the road and it would be a quick return trip I didn’t go much further and turned around and back into town.
From here it was off to Merluna Station where I would be relaxing for the next 2 days.

Merluna Station is a working cattle farm of around 160,000 hectares with around 3000 head of cattle on the property.
The accommodation options are either campsites or some small cabins are available.

The cabins are basic but have a small ensuite and they have 4 of these.
They also have a camp kitchen and a pool.
I spent most of my afternoon relaxing by my cabin listening to some tunes.

There is a communal dinner available for guests at a small price which tonight’s dinner was a selection of chicken dishes, salads and hotdogs. It was great to chat with others and some people who live near the area and visit the station regularly to relax.
That’s another day on this Cape York journey on this Midlife Adventure.
