Day 83 – 6th August 2019 on a Midlife Adventure
Heading off from Cairns, Qld it was time to take the caravan to its home at Mt Carbine, Qld where I am going to leave it behind and make my way to the Tip of Cape York, Qld.
The journey north of Cairns is right along the coastline and it is an amazing drive with some great beaches. Unfortunately only the gamest would dare swim.

The town of Port Douglas, Qld is a resort town much like Denarau Island, Fiji. It is not an overly friendly caravan town so I made my way carefully down main street got some pictures and headed back out.

Then heading down the main shopping strip which seemed full of expensive brand shops so probably out of my budget to spend too much time here. There looked like there were some nice restaurants there for the locals to enjoy.

Heading along to cross back over the Great Dividing Range you are in dense rain forest.

The journey over the hills with 2.5 tonne on your tail pushes the car quite hard so it tends to be a slow and steady journey and when possible making space to let others past.
Heading towards the campsite at Mt Carbine, Qld I noticed this sign that really reminded me just how far I still have to go to reach the destination.

On arrival I setup my campsite and relaxed for the night, however with no Optus Internet the blog posts didn’t happen.

That’s my journey today on this Midlife Adventure.
