Day 61 – 15/7/2019 on this Midlife Adventure
It was way too cold this morning! So I stayed in bed until it warmed up enough to consider getting out of bed. Oh if I had been working then I wouldn’t have that choice… its pretty nice.
Today’s journey was back into Bundaberg and the Botanic Gardens the home of the Hinkler Hall of Aviation.

I have to admit I had no idea who Bert was this morning when I arrived but I soon learnt that he was a pioneer of aviation who was born here in Bundaberg, Qld.
At 19 he built his first glider which in an era when flight was still in its infancy that was a massive feat.
From there his engineering mind developed additional planes and led to a life dedicated to Aeronautics.

The gallery below give you an insight into some of the exhibits which is very interactive including 3 flight simulators.
In 1983 the house Bert was living in, in the UK was to be demolished, a dedicated team here in Bundaberg worked hard and brought it back to Australia and rebuilt it brick by brick.

This now is part of the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens a well presented and laid out park that I have included some shots of in the above gallery.
So I’m flying through this Midlife Adventure and on the move again further north tomorrow.
