This morning my father and I attended the dawn service in Adelaide.

My grandfather was part of the 2/10th Australian Infantry Battalion which participated in the battle of Buna, Milne Bay, Tobruk and New Guinea.

He would regularly march each year meeting others of his unit for a chance to reunite and remember. This year only one member of the 2/10th was able to march in Adelaide.

I am very honoured to hold his Medals and have them mounted along side his picture and displayed with pride at my place.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we Forget

It’s a Midlife Adventure that I get to take thanks to the sacrifice of so many.
