Day 273 – 13/2/2020 on a Midlife Adventure.

Moving on from Whyalla I head north and arrive into Port Augusta.

From here you can head north back up to Darwin and as tempting as that idea is I keep going East.

I’ve never really stopped in Port Augusta, I’m sure it is an interesting town, a stop for another day maybe.

Just out of town is a massive greenhouse project for Coles.

About another 60km on from Port Augusta is the small town of Port Germein.

Tracking to the south of the Flinders Rangers a spot I’ll also want to come back to on another visit.

Port Germein, SA

The jetty heads 1.5km out to sea and I take the journey after packing a hand line and some bait.

On the way out I find out that this is a tractor sitting out of the water to it can tow the boat back in as the tide changes.

So that’s what 1.5km out to sea looks like, the fishing was pretty poor with a couple of small tommies which all went back but I didn’t mind as I didn’t feel like cleaning them either. The old jetty used to go further out to sea but due to storm damage was shortened.

So a short stop here and another day completed on this Midlife Adventure.
